Who are we

Climate Front India (CFI), established in October 2019, is an alliance of diverse self-governing voluntary organizations. Its common pursuit is to educate people about climate change and spread awareness.

Climate Front India’s founding aim is to ensure and put light on climate justice and issues of climatic change.

This organization intends to continue its advocacy towards the identification and mitigation of climate issues on local as well as global levels that affect the ecosystem in India.

Climate Front India believes to be a global community; members of this NGO, hereby declare themselves, as the working body for the protection of the Environment. We believe not only in social transformation, but sustainable solutions as well.

We believe that in order for the struggle to transform society to succeed, it must be carried out and supported by people imbued with revolutionary values towards climate justice.

We want to make the society aware and concerned, more responsible and compassionate, committed, and active in the struggle for environmental issues.

Our work

What we do

Climate Front India raises climate awareness and education, creates diverse communities to find solutions, and supports sustainable practices. We address local environmental issues, advocate for climate justice, support marginalized groups, and emphasize the importance of aiding climate refugees. We aim to influence Indian climate justice policies and support environmental movements.

Education & Environment

Impact Education: Encourage efficient resource use to reduce environmental impact through education.

Creating Community: Form a diverse community of youth and diverse professionals for example engineers, doctors, scientists, researchers, lawyers to find solutions. Introduce climate science in schools to raise early awareness.

Sustainable Solutions

Support for Sustainability: Advocate for transitioning to sustainability by improving or regenerating physical and social contexts of life.

Tangible Result Oriented Approach: Focus on groundwork, addressing local issues, and achieving tangible results through community and authority coordination.

Identifying Local Issues: Recognize and address diverse local issues such as water scarcity or littering through ground-level advocacy.

Collaboration and Innovation: Encourage collaboration with communities, organizations, startups, and study groups to find sustainable solutions and improve quality of life.

Identification and mitigation of local issues

CFI will identify specific localized issues and encourage finding solutions through community engagement for e.g.; underground water depletion and stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana, habitat destruction in J&K, and Himachal Pradesh, among others.

Climate front India believes and advocates the theory that with the support of the community on ground levels, environmental issues can be dealt with, as well as local authorities (professionals, municipal corporations, etc.), will play a crucial role in the formation of the better system.

Climate Justice

Climate front India believes in Climate Ethics- an area of research that focuses on the ethical dimensions of climate change, and concepts such as climate justice.

It is the onus of local groups, people, administration NGOs to work together in progress for the betterment of Adivasi, farmers, and other indigenous groups who have been wronged at the end of climate justice.

Climate Refugees

Climate refugees or climate migrants are a subset of environmental migrants who were forced to flee “due to sudden or gradual alterations in the natural environment related to at least one of three impacts of climate change: sea-level rise, extreme weather events, and drought and water scarcity.”

Therefore, Climate Front India advocates for solutions aimed at addressing this challenge within India through policymakers to integrate principles of resilience for climate refugees.

our equity policy

At CFI, we aim to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.

To support this, we have established an Equity Committee where individuals can submit formal or informal complaints, grievances, or suggestions related to harassment. While we foster a friendly atmosphere, CFI condemns any actions that violate personal space, dignity, or legal liberties.

In serious cases, the Equity Committee can terminate the accused’s membership and pursue legal action.
